Chris Pratt's new movie Way of the Warrior Kid has confirmed a release date for later this year, as well as a first look. The upcoming drama focuses on an injured Navy SEAL who helps his bullied nephew find courage amid struggles at school.
Set to stream on Apple TV, the company has now revealed that the film will premiere on 20 November, while first look stills of Pratt and co-stars Linda Cardellini and Jude Hill have been released. Check them out below.
Way of the Warrior Kid is based on the book by Jocko Willink, who was a former Navy SEAL, and follows Marc (Hill), "a good kid who’s bullied by his classmates and feels like he’s behind in everything, from academics to PE to just making friends".
"That changes when his injured Uncle Jake (Pratt), a decorated Navy SEAL, comes to spend the summer and recuperate with Marc and his mom, Sarah (Cardellini)," the synopsis adds.
"To help Marc defend himself, Jake devises an ambitious program he calls 'Operation Warrior Kid' based on his SEAL training. Instead of teaching his nephew how to fight, Jake shows Marc what real courage is, facing down his own demons along the way."

The cast also includes Chicago Fire's Ava Torres, The Lost Bus' Levi McConaughey, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place's Darien Sills-Evans, Holidate's Carl McDowell and Arrow's Parker Young.
Way of the Warrior Kid is directed by Charlie's Angels' McG, while Without Remorse's Will Staples is adapting the book for the screen.
Pratt was most-recently seen in sci-fi thriller Mercy, which sees a detective try to prove to an AI judge that he didn't kill his wife, and the actor spoke recently to Digital Spy about the movie, defending the project not taking a stand on AI.
"There's this seduction around inviting a person into a story that's going to be a think piece that's going to have them walking away having shifted their perspective on something important, like AI or the advent of AI and how it's taking jobs and displacing people," he said.
"This is not what's going to happen on this movie. This is a movie that's not a think piece. It's a 90-minute thrill ride."
Way of the Warrior Kid will be released on 20 November on Apple TV.
