THE TRAITORS STAR LANDS MAJOR ROLE IN 'UPLIFTING' FILM BASED ON TRUE STORY
Fans of The Traitors are in for a treat as one of its celebrity stars is headed for the big screen after landing a huge role in a "sweet and uplifting" film.
Maura Higgins, who has appeared on Love Island and The Traitors US, is making her feature length acting debut in the film, starring alongside Pussycat Dolls' Kimberley Wyatt.
The film in question is The Spin, and it is coming to UK and Irish cinemas from February 27.

Derry Girls actress Tara Lynne O’Neill also stars in the film, which follows Dermot (Brenock O’Connor) and Elvis (Owen Colgan) who face an unpaid rent bill.
Sadie (O'Neill), their vicious landlady, is eager to get them out of her property and the pair stumble across a deal too good to be true.
They come across some rare, vintage records of blues legend Robert Johnson for sale in Cork at a knock-down price.
The film's synopsis reads: "If they can make it to the other end of Ireland in time, then maybe they could get the rare vinyl, and save the shop.
"With just two days to get there the pair head off in a rusty Vauxhall as old as the hills. As they navigate their beautiful journey, they meet locals and make new friends along the way."
The Spin is based on a semi-autobiographical short story by Omagh music star Mark McCausland, who also provides the soundtrack for the film.
Director Michael Head said: "The Spin is a feel good buddy movie that doesn’t take itself too seriously. I hope everyone enjoys watching as much as we enjoyed making it.”
Maura Higgins plays Rose in the film and her character is the girlfriend of Dermot. The official Instagram account for the film shared some photos of star behind the scenes.
Back in November 2025, the account shared some first-look images of Higgins ahead of her appearance on The Traitors US.
They said: "Congratulations to @maurahiggins: from making her film debut in Irish comedy drama The Spin to being confirmed as one of the contestants in the new series of The Traitors US, the sky really is the limit for this Queen."
Fans flocked to the comments to offer their support after falling in love with the star following her unforgettable appearance on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!.
