‘MASTERPIECE’ NETFLIX SERIES THAT MADE FANS FEEL ‘EVERY EMOTION’ WILL RETURN

Netflix’s recent comedy-drama series starring a television icon will be coming back for a third season.

Fans have called the series a “masterpiece” with “emotional storytelling” so it’s definitely not one to miss if you’ve not already caught up.

Starring Ted Danson and created by The Good Place and The Office mastermind Michael Schur, A Man on the Inside stars the Cheers legend as Charles Nieuwendyk, a retired and widowed college professor who takes on a new job as a private investigator’s assistant.

In the first season, Charles teams up with DI Julie Kovalenko (played by Lilah Richcreek Estrada) to unearth the truth behind a missing necklace at a retirement home.

Season two, released last November, follows a new case, this time going undercover at a college campus to investigate a stolen laptop which holds the key to a staggering $400 million (£290 million) donation.

Countless fans have loved the series so far and, based on the release timeline of the previous two seasons, fans can expect another Man on the Inside mystery to drop later this year.

Series lead Danson told Tudum: “I’m so excited to see where Charles Nieuwendyk goes next.

“I’ve been blessed to work with Mike Schur for most of the last decade, and I’m still amazed by what he does. I’m incredibly thankful to him for creating this character and trusting me with him.

“The cast and crew make it very hard to call this ‘work.’ Huge thanks to Netflix for believing in the show, and letting us keep this ride going.”

Plot details for the third outing are being kept under wraps, but fans should expect the stakes to be raised even higher after the gripping conspiracy which unravelled in season two.

Schur explained ahead of last year’s release: “What we did in season two is try to level [Charles] up: make the case bigger and more dramatic, make the stakes higher, and make his detective work both better and also in some ways worse.

“That’s the great joy of a show lasting multiple seasons — you get to just add. All of season one is at the foundation of season two, and one and two will be at the foundation of season three.”
