PARAMOUNT CEO BOB BAKISH TO STEP DOWN

(Reuters) -Paramount Global said on Monday Bob Bakish would step down as CEO, in a move that comes as the media company considers a takeover offer from Skydance Media chief David Ellison.

The company said that it had established an Office of the CEO, consisting of three senior executives, George Cheeks, president and CEO of CBS; Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios; and Brian Robbins, president and CEO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon.

Bakish had led the company since the 2019 merger with CBS to form ViacomCBS, later branded as Paramount Global. He was also at the helm of Viacom since 2016.

Shares of the company rose 2% in extended trading.
